At last, my wedding shoe is ready

Raymond called me to an appointment to tried out my shoe before he the last touch. When I look at the shoe (the unfinished one), ermm... I can't find "WOW!". Kinda disappointed, but I must trust him. I'm sure he can make a pretty shoe for me. Weeks after, finally, my shoe is ready. Look at my shoe. I love the shoe so so much. Thanks. Raymond.

Designer shoes or boutique shoes?

Choosing the bridal shoes that match the style of your wedding gown is important. I can’t be choosing a shoe that I love so much but does not match my wedding gown. Is so hard! Some of my friend ordered their wedding gowns from the well-known gown designer, so they are able bring along their wedding gown to see if the design / style of the shoes match their wedding gown. But as for me I need to buy a pair of shoes before I know what types of gowns I’ll be choosing. Even, if I have chosen, I don’t think Mon’Liza would allow me to bring their gown here and there. Now, I have to decide whether to get designer shoes or boutique shoes?

Designer shoes - I am thinking of getting a designer shoe for my actual wedding day. Firstly because I want my wedding shoe to be one-in-a-kind. Secondly, as it is a tailored shoe, I guess should be very comfortable. However, it might be costly.

Boutique shoes - I should be buying my photo shooting shoes from boutiques. It might take a longer time to hunt for one.

Should I focus on the comfort of the shoes and ignore the design or vise verse?

Comfortable pair of bridal shoes is important not only for your wedding day as you need to walk a lot but also for your bridal photo shooting. You need to smile a lot and smile sweetly during your bridal photo shooting. If you are wearing an uncomfortable pair of bridal shoes, do you think you can still smile? Not to say smile sweetly. If you can’t smile, do you think you will look pretty in the photo?

A comfortable pair of shoes starts with the right size. Don’t choose a pair of bridal shoes which is too big or too small. You may face difficulty in walking if you choose a pair of bridal shoes that is too big or painful if it is too small. There are time when you found the best design pair of bridal shoes that match perfectly with your wedding gown but the size that you want is out of stock. Should you buy 1 size smaller or 1 size bigger, just because that’s the best design? I think you should reconsider of buying it as there are a lot of bridal shoes out there. There is no point of buying a pair of shoes that has the best design but will make you feel uncomfortable.

Besides, you should buy the bridal shoes a few weeks before your wedding or photo shooting. A new pair of bridal shoes is normally painful unless you bought a custom made shoes. Wear your shoes at home so that your shoe will be adjusted according the shape of your foot.

Not forget about the height of your bridal shoes. If you are a person who wears 12 hours a day of 4 inch shoes, then wearing a stiletto heel should not be a problem. However, if you are not that kind of person, try to choose a lower height range of high heels. No worries, you will still look pretty and comfortable at the same time.

What colour of the bridal shoe should I be buying?

I have chosen a white wedding gown and a sky blue evening gown for my Port Dickson bridal photo shooting. Therefore, getting a pair of white bridal shoes fit the best for both gowns I’ve chosen. The thing is, my next bridal photo shooting (indoor and outdoor) will be on 23 June 2009 and I have not chosen my gowns. What colour of bridal shoe should I be getting?

Well, I know it is not possible to get a same colour of gown and shoe but at least a perfect match. After considering this and that, I should getting a white or silver bridal shoes as I think it won’t go wrong with any colours of the gowns.

Choosing white is even better as white is the truest colour and therefore it can dyed to other colour after the wedding. However, I'm not sure if there’s any shoes maker in Malaysia that does shoes dyeing. If there’s, its worth investing money in a better quality white bridal shoes as you can wear it over and over.

Should I be buying a pair high heeled or flat shoe?

I always imagine of wearing a pair of very high heeled (stilettos) shoes on my wedding day. Probably I think they’ll make me hotter and sexier. Hahaha! Silly me! But bear in mind that wearing a stilettos shoe may not be so comfortable and will be at a risk of falling down.

So, choosing a “right height” pair of shoes is important. Well, if you are so use to wearing a 4 inches pair of shoes, I don’t think is a problem of wearing it on your wedding. Remember, you won't look great falling down with difficult heels and you can’t smile when your feet are in pain. Choose a shoe that you are confident with it (you know you won’t be falling down with it and you know you won’t feel discomfort and pain with it)

Right height that bring me confidence:-
  • Wedding ceremony – about 3 to 4 inches as I need not walk a lot
  • Wedding banquet – Less than 3 inches as I need to walk to table by table to say hi to my guests, friends and relatives
  • Photo Shooting in Port Dickson – 2 pairs (about 3 inches and about 1-2 inches as I need to run during the photo shooting)
  • Outdoor Photo Shooting – Sport shoes (yes, i'm not joking)
  • Indoor Photo Shooting – 3-4 inches

Bridal shoes @ Wedding shoes

I’ll be going for my outdoor bridal photo shooting on 22 April 2009 at Port Dickson (PD), Negeri Sembilan. Wendy, my consultant from Mon’Liza asked me to bring along a pair of high heels and a pair of not so high heels as I need to run during the photo shooting. While she was talking to me, I just nod my head like I have no questions about the shoes. In face, many questions cross my mind.

- Should I be buying a pair high heeled or flat shoe?
- What colour of the bridal shoe should I be buying?
- What type of design should I be buying?
- Should I focus on the comfort of the shoes and ignore the design or vise verse?
